Exerpted from Chapter Ten "Happy New Year."
“Oh, God…wait…not yet…” Squeek slowed the pace a little, her head turned, half-open eyes glued to the clock. Jack lay under her in an electric daze, his breathing rapid, his neck arched. His hands were on her waist and through barely open eyes he watched her, hovering over him like some lusty angel. “Thirty seconds…” she half whispered, half gasped. She began to pick up the pace. “Oh, God. Squeek…” She moved with more urgency now, and little sounds escaped her lips. Her head was still turned toward the clock but her eyes were opening and closing, Ohhhhh…Jack…” She pushed herself deeper onto him and his body arched higher and he felt he would explode, and she rose and fell on him and then suddenly she gasped and pushed harder and Jack let out a high pitched moan and she shuddered and squealed and collapsed on him, her head on his shoulder, her hair in his face. They lay for a moment in silence, chests heaving. Then Squeek raised her head a little and looked at him. She grinned, and between gasps of air, she said, “Happy New Year. How do you like 1980 so far?” and let her head fall back on him. After a few minutes, she began to feel heavy, and Jack shifted his body slightly and she rolled off and tucked herself up next to him. She put her mouth on his ear and touched it with the tip of her tongue. Then she whispered directly into his ear, “What…a…man.” Jack glowed with pride. She said, “I told you I could do it. We were right on the button, midnight exactly.” Jack sighed, “Well, this is the best New Year’s Eve party I’ve even been to.” She smiled. “Well, I wanted to properly christen your apartment, and now that I have, there’s something I want to say to you.” He grinned, “What?” “Mr. Cannon, sir, you ain’t seen nuthin yet.”
