Two amazing days on Innishmaan in May 2012 led to a dozen painting ideas. I thought I had seen stone walls before, but noooooo. The first night at the hotel pub, I struck up a conversation with the Island Postmistress who was sitting next to me at the bar. I told her about meeting and helping an old woman tottering along with a cane who was having difficulty filling a pail of water for her cow. "What did she look like?" she asked me. I described her. She laughed, "That was my mother." Only in Ireland. That's her in the lane bringing water to this beautiful Connemara Pony. |
