| This dappled gray pony standing in front of a dappled gray ruin caught my eye while walking the ancient, stony island of Inishmaan, the most "unspoiled" of the Aran Islands. The shamrocks painted on the doorway made me wonder if it had been an old pub, and as it was just up the lane from J.M.Synge's cottage, whether 100 years ago the great man had walked through that door in search of tales of the harsh island life. |
