In Rathmullen, Co. Donegal, the Lough Swilly tides rise and fall 7-8 feet twice a day continuously hiding then revealing all sorts of sea grasses, lichen, and the frail skeletons of small sea critters. To walk along the shore at lowtide is like walking across the face of a giant abstract painting... at least that's what it felt like to me.
