A couple of summers ago friends came back from a concert by the Oxford (NY) Community Band and told me there was a red-headed kid in the band named Seamus that I just had to see. Knowing my soft spot for a) redheads, b) Ireland, and c) musicians, they assumed that I would want to do a painting of him. Well, I went to the next OCB concert, met Seamus, and the next thing I knew he was posing for photos in their gorgeous old family barn near McDonough, NY

Finally, two years later the painting was finished and I gave it to the Nolan family at, you guessed it, an Oxford Community Band concert. And yes, Seamus was up to 5' 9" and growing.
